I'm not much of a movie goer, but Pickford could help change that. Nice vibe, nice people, reasonable prices, and a nice old building.
As far as I'm concerned, they got the volume just right - plenty loud enough to follow all the dialogue, but none of that bone-shaking stuff that is so popular now...previews, too. Speaking of previews, I don't know if the theater has any choice in the matter, but I was pleased that the preview films seemed like they were at least in the same ballpark as the movie we went to see.
I will definitely make this my first theater of choice!
Excellent customer service. My roommate and I have always gone to regal and our first time coming here we missed our showing because we're not used to booking them in advance and we forgot about it. We came in and asked if we might be able to get a discount to re-buy. We would've taken no for answer since it was our fault but we just got free replacement tickets instead.
We're going to have to always come here from now on
We saw "The Banshees of Inisherin" on Thanksgiving Day, 24 Nov 2022. ("The Menu" was showing in the other theater.) There were very few people in the theater. We loved the Jones sodas (common flavors in the dispenser, less common ones in bottles at the concession stand) and, I confess, we even appreciated the peanut-butter filled pretzels, which are from Costco, but hey they tasted good! The staff were super friendly and helpful. We thought it might be busy so we arrived (too) early, but we hung out in the lobby (nice that they have tables and chairs) until it was OK to go into the theater. The screens aren't huge and the sound doesn't surround you, but the seats were very comfortable and overall it was a pleasant viewing experience. Do prepare yourself for about the same number of previews and "ads" that you'd see at a mainstream theater, but you can feel good that your support stays in the community. Restrooms are not gender-based, you have a choice between "stalls" or "urinals". The only disappointment was the popcorn. Maybe because there were so few people in the theater, or the butter stirrer wasn't working, but the whey (watery stuff) had separated from the oil (the "ghee" part) so part of the buttered popcorn was wet. But honestly, I'd rather risk that than the toxic "fake butter" at the mainstream theater. Highly recommended.
Great intimate movie experience. Really nice concession counter; good variety (not the same old-same old!) and outstanding fresh popcorn. The small is enough, but you might wish you'd gone large!
Love this theater!
We come for Bleedingham every year and it's always nice coming back into this lovely location.
A variety of independent film offerings in a comfortable and slightly retro setting. Located in Bellingham's art district and a few doors down from restaurants, that were packed with people when I was there. You may also get food at the Pickford theater.
Cozy, great cafe area, friendly staff. Very welcoming space for film lovers.
Great place to catch a flick! Watched Oppenheimer recently. I love spicing up my popcorn!
